Electricity Asset Services Ltd is committed to ensuring that all of its activities are conducted in accordance with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements and the highest standards of environmental and ethical business conduct.
The purpose of this policy is to set out EAS’s position on Environmental matters, our rules relating to these and provide guidance to employees on their and the Company obligations.
The corporate conduct of EAS is based on acting safely, responsibly, honestly and with integrity. All employees are expected to act in a responsible, honest, ethical and lawful manner and must take care and precautions at all times.
EAS is committed to achieving continual improvement in standards of environmental and health and safety at work and seeks to reduce the risks to its staff whilst they are at their place of work, during the course of their work and to comply with any client site rules.
As a specialist utilities contractor, EAS has recognised the need to manage its impact on the environment, is committed to meeting customers' expectations for an environmentally sound service.
Care for the environment is a consistent factor of our operations therefore all activities are carried out with regard to the limits that nature can accept in the form of resource consumption and pollution.
In order to achieve this, the company is committed to:
Communicating information regarding EAS environmental procedures to all personnel, ensuring that they understand the consequences of failure to follow procedures along with their role in protecting the environment and reducing the company’s CO2 emissions
Understanding the requirements of interested parties and stakeholders and communicating details of environmental aspects and impacts
Complying with the requirements of current applicable environmental legislation and any other compliance requirements relevant to what we do
Operating an environmentally responsible procurement system to minimise waste, delivery mileages and ensure sustainable product lifecycles wherever possible
Ensuring effective management of the environment by implementing and operating an Environmental Management System.
Ensure that there is suitable funds and resources to manage the system.
Setting and reviewing objectives and targets to ensure continual improvement and management of environmental risks
Seeking to reduce consumption of materials and the minimisation of waste in all operations and promote reuse, recycling and the use of recycled materials where practicable.
Developing staff awareness of environmental issues through effective education and training, helping ensure environmental protection measures are maintained and improved.
Controlling, preventing and seeking to minimise the level of emissions/pollution in all areas of the organisation. This includes the use of local suppliers to reduce delivery mileages and support economic sustainability
Ensuring others who undertake work for the organisation, such as contractors, adhere to the management standards and controls as laid down in the company Environmental Management System.
Monitoring progress and communicating environmental performance information as appropriate. We will communicate EAS’s performance in reducing CO2 emissions to all employees and relevant interested parties
Working closely with Clients to reflect their environmental concerns and requirements into existing practises.
Communicating the policy to all company personnel and making it freely available to customers, the general public and other interested parties.
Additions to the general policy document will be made from time to time in the light of new legislative requirements or organisational change.
The company is committed to continuous improvement, monitoring compliance with this policy and the constant improvement of policies, processes and procedures to improve performance and provide highest levels of customer satisfaction.
