TRAINEE DESIGN ENGINEER
Job Title -Trainee Civils Operative Business Unit - Electrical
Working Hours - 8 hrs per day
Lunch - 30 Minutes
Reporting to - Design Manager

Overview and main responsibilities
The job of a design engineer is to learn how to complete electrical designs on the underground electrical network; this will include a lot of IT work on a Macbook, so the applicant must be confident in the use of computers. There will also be an element of attending our sites to look at the work that is being designed.
The long-term opportunity for this position is to move into a design manager role within the business.

· Responsible for assisting the design manager in producing the electrical designs for the teams on a daily basis.

Education and Training
· National 4 qualification in 3 subjects, preferably administration and English
· Training will be provided in Excel, and Microsoft packages. Also Manual handling, Fire warden, risk assessment.

· Willingness to learn new skills.

· Be able to communicate effectively.
· Be confident talking on the telephone.
