TRAINEE OPERATIVE
Job Title - Trainee Operative Business Unit - Open
Working Hours - 8 hrs per day
Lunch - 30 Minutes
Reporting to - Lead Hand / Site Supervisor

Overview and main responsibilities
The job consists of excavation works in the public footpath & highway in and around Fife and the central belt of Scotland for various clients This is a trainee position where you will learn all aspects of utility work from carrying out hand excavations to operating mini diggers to excavate on the public footpath.
The job is very much hands on, however there will be a requirement for the post holder to attend a local college to obtain a SVQ or equivalent qualification in the chosen subject.
Key Outcomes/accountabilities
· Responsible for housekeeping of the vehicle and site.
· Always wearing 5 points of PPE
· Completing daily checks on equipment
· Taking an active part in the daily site risk assessment
· Assist the teams with their daily tasks

· Working in an outdoor environment
Education and Training
· National 3/ 4 qualification in 3 subjects
· Training will be provided in manual handling, Risk Assessment, Abrasive Wheels Silca Dust, COSHH.

· Willingness to learn new skills
